Ross's Goose (??) - 07 Mar 2011

Questionable Ross's Goose (Chen rossii).  Belle Isle Park in the Detroit River. Digiscoped this dark-phased bird this afternoon from about 90'.  Thanks to Allen Chartier for finding it, and to Joe Agius for reporting it! 

Within minutes of posting these images it has become apparent that the bird shown does not appear to be a pure Ross's Goose, but a possible hybrid.  More information to come...
