Digiscoping Sparrows @ UM-D - 05 Jun 2019
Pat Jakel and I met up at the Environmental Interpretive Center at the University Michigan - Dearborn to do some digiscoping this evening. He was interested in evaluating the Sony Alpha a6300 as a digiscoping camera for his Swarovski spotting scope. In the meantime it gave me a chance to play with my digiscoping rig that has seen little action in the past few weeks.
We walked down to Jensen's Meadow and found a Song Sparrow on territory.
Green Frogs were perched on logs next to shore of Hidden Lake and made for interesting subjects given the extreme lighting conditions of early evening and partial sun.
An Indigo Bunting was a challenge to digiscope. It was also on territory and flying back and forth across the meadow and spending its time in heavy cover. Some hand-held digiscoping was necessary to capture these images.
