Low-light Shorebirding - 25 Aug 2021

A late afternoon bike ride at Pt. Mouillee SGA produced some nice views and images of late-August shorebirds. The most productive locations have been the Middle Causeway just west of the Banana Unit (north shore of Humphries Unit) and SE corner of Cell 3 (now being filled with dredgings). Highlights were all juveniles of Lesser Yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpipers, Least Sandpipers, Short-billed Dowitcher and Stilt Sandpiper

The Stilt Sandpiper was a nice find in the SE corner of Cell 3 along w/ a flock of Lesser Yellowlegs, Least and Semipalms.

The Caspian Terns were not a bad find, either...

I would get one more trip in before the Mou closes to hunting after August 31st.
